History

A company that has changed what it sells

Half a century in business. It began as an office-equipment trading house and has moved into whatever the market has needed since. Cars were added in 2019.

1974

Took over the office-equipment supply division of Dodwell & Company Limited, a British trading house, and began trading in Shimbashi, Tokyo.

2001 — 2004

Ran a sports division providing baseball coaching and player management.

2012 — 2014

Built and ran a closed social network connecting older people with their families.

2019

Started the automotive business, NBMS Cars, covering sourcing and sales through to inspection and maintenance.

Philosophy

The Hi-Mi-Tsu Project

Himitsu is the Japanese word for secret. Here it is built from three words: hito (people), mirai (the future) and tsunageru (to connect). Connecting people to one another, and on to what comes next — the principle the company has worked to since it was founded.

Selling a car is not a one-off transaction. Sourcing, inspection, servicing and the next car after this one: we work on the basis that the relationship carries on.
